Struggling with maintaining consistency in their training due to family commitments or lack of current skill ability, our board and train program can be a great kickstarter. Consistency and repetition are key in dog training, as every interaction with your pet is a learning opportunity.
Our Board and Train program is an in home base controlled environment for your dog to learn the desired behaviors, not only correcting existing issues but also establishing a solid foundation to prevent future problems.
This is not a good option for owners who have no care in training, this is a opportunity to invest into your dog to have a easier dog to handle, new formed and proofed behaviors, and advance to off leash reliability that you can control.

All of our programs are reinforcement based as we would rather teach with food first. We strive for our dogs be eager and willing to participate consistently in training activities.
We begin discussing these programs after an in person evaluation to go over exactly where we need to start and for me to best fit a program that is suited towards your current skill level and training goals.
All programs are tailored towards your dog's genetics and behavior, updates are sent daily, videos and photos will be personally sent and shared to our public instagram profile @astralk9s.
Alexandria's availability is normally always booking 1-3 months out.
Limiting our schedule and availability based around the dogs we have in our care first.
Because your dog is sharing a space in my home and next to my personal dogs, I limit the amount of dogs I take on per week/month striving in not running a stressful kennel environment.
A minimum of 2-3 week programs available only, case by case this could differ.

With Alexandria and her mentor dog, 1:1 in a controlled environment and moving towards more real life scenarios in public / crowds. Alexandria, will work with you to tailor a training program that meets your specific needs and helps you develop your foundation with your dog.
Providing a tailored plan that guides you from to the beginning to achieving your training goals.
This is a great program to learn alongside me and your dog, watch how methods are applied to mastery, get exclusive advice over handling, and ultimately developing strong leash skills.
Currently books are open and accepting new clients.
Lessons are generated to help you before or after your committed board and train program.

Meet your trainer
Alexandria
Astral K9 is a woman owned business founded in 2020.
It started with a dream and a rescue Malinois named Meeko in 2019. During her first year of owning a working breed, she sought out education outside of her own former realm of dogs growing up. Mentoring from reputable trainers in the area, seeking online education from Michael Ellis courses to all YouTube videos containing learning theories on what she could learn from, volunteering in local shelters offering evaluations and fostering, to now, what she has formed is her own artwork of mastering communication and coaching to not only humans, but all dogs.
Working alongside people and their differences was always a strong suit for Alexandria, often the social butterfly and asking "why".
Taking a balanced approach method understanding dogs individual internal needs and wants are always unique.
Teaching primarily with positive reenforcement techniques but as well blending in tools when conditioned and used properly to take dogs to the next level, safely off leash.
Alexandria has a passion with Belgian Malinois as she owns 2 working breeds herself, both CGC,CGC-A,CGC-U certified for a mentor dog standard.
Meeko, rescued from Front Street Shelter in Sacramento in 2018, sparked her passion in the breed and now serves as a mentor dog in her programs. He has helped reactive dogs learn neutrality, puppies learning social manners, dogs learning off leash reliability and pack drive, and mostly, fearful dogs learning how to trust and coexist.
Aside from Meeko, Riley and Astra as well serves as demos to her work, having high obedience and a heavy influence in opening her eyes to the potential of working breeds to dog sports and competing.
On her free time she can be found in the Santa Cruz Mountains or Tahoe Basin hiking with her dogs, off-roading in her Tacoma, enjoying a hazy IPA, spending time with her family, and staying home with her 3 dogs and cat.
Education never stops here as she constantly is seeking out the most updated reputable training techniques and attending local seminars regularly held by fellow colleagues in the canine industry to stay updated on skills and always expanding our knowledge of dogs. This a strong ethical business point to Alexandria as she acknowledges science-based methods is important; she is always leaving every seminar wanting to know more. Forever eager to educate alongside with her clients on teaching techniques, proper handling skills, and simplifying dog behavior so that they can have a key part in advancing their relationship to the next level. Coaching and communication skills is her strongpoint as she thrives in making lessons as personable and enjoyable as possible.
As a "coach" my goal is for you to fall in love with the passion I did when building my journey towards training dogs.. for you to regain control and confidence with your canine.
